Our History and Pastor

Grace Baptist Church was founded on July 16th, 2017 at the Waukee Community Center. We are a church plant started out of Pleasantville Baptist Church in Pleasantville, IA. On our one-year anniversary in 2018, we officially chartered as a church.

In 2019, our church completed a several-month renovation of our current building located at 540 Walnut Street on the beautiful Waukee Triangle. You can see a video of the process here on YouTube.

In January 2023, Grace Baptist Church called on Joe Edwards to be their new pastor. Joe and his wife Deedee have been married since 1990 and they have three lovely girls ages 11, 9, and 8.

Pastor Edwards graduated from the Bible Baptist Institute in Ardmore, Oklahoma in May of 2018 with his Bachelor's degree in Seminary Studies.
